There is an increasing need for health professionals to address health problems in an innovative way as the world of health becomes more complex. The uniqueness of the MHSc in Transdisciplinary Health promotion is that health care professionals will be able to think beyond their single discipline and learn to function as an expert in their discipline in a transdisciplinary team to enhance health promotion in a holistic way.

 

Purpose of the MHSc in Transdisciplinary Health Promotion:

Health care professionals credited with this qualification MHSc in Transdisciplinary Health Promotion will be able to function with advanced intellectual and practical competencies in complex and ill-defined areas of health. The programme does not lead to an additional professional qualification. It will enable health care professionals from various disciplines to promote health from a team approach and to assist communities to increase control over and take responsibility for their own health. Health care professionals will be able to act as leaders, consultants, educators, specialist practitioners and researchers in transdisciplinary health promotion. The MHSc in Transdisciplinary Health Promotion affords health professionals access to doctoral studies, further increasing the candidate pool for leadership in health.
