Prof Ankebé Kruger is an HPCSA registered psychologist and an associate professor within the Centre for Health & Human Performance (CHHP). Prof Ankebé Kruger has been lecturing at the School for Human Movement Sciences from 2008 until 2020 when she accepted a position at the CHHP. She taught various modules from undergraduate to postgraduate level. She is currently teaching in the Clinical and Counselling Psychology Master’s program.
In her new position, she is mainly responsible for the coordination and conducting of applied research. She also lectures in the psychology master’s program and treats individuals with various psychological disorders in which she works mainly from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic (CBT) perspective. As a qualified Sport Scientist Ankebé has a great interest in performance psychology among school- and university sport athletes. As a registered Psychologist, Ankebé has been working in elite clinical sport psychology with various teams ranging from school to national level. Ankebé is a keen recreational mountain biker and enjoys being in the gymnasium as well as spending time outdoors.
