Welcome to the Faculty of Health Sciences Ethics Office for Research, Training & Support

 

The Ethics Office was established in 2014 and have the following major functions:

  • Administration and mangement of ethics in the Faculty

  • Ethics training of researchers and postgraduate students

  • Consultations regarding ethical aspects of researchers

  • Protecting participants and researchers

  • Ethical evaluation of research proposals

  • Monitoring of approved projects

 

These functions are ably undertaken by the staff of the Ethics Office which currently consists of the Head, an academic advisor and four senior administrative assistants.

 

The office serves two Ethics Committees, namely HREC (Health Research Ethics Committee) and AnimCare (Animal research ethics committee) within the Faculty of Health Sciences.
