What is the Scimago Journal Ranking?
The Q1 to Q4 rankings are quartile rankings used to classify academic journals based on their SCImago Journal Rank (SJR) within specific subject categories. These quartiles provide a way to assess a journal's relative standing among its peers within a particular field.
Quartiles: Journals are often grouped into quartiles based on their SJR score within their respective subject categories (For example: Psychology or Social Work). These quartiles (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4) represent the journal's rank:
- Q1: Top 25% of journals in the category.
- Q2: Next 25% (25%-50%).
- Q3: Next 25% (50%-75%).
- Q4: Bottom 25% (75%-100%).
