Background

Dr. Monique Basson is a HPSCA registered counselling psychologist. She is an associate psychologist for the Centre for Health & Human Performance (CHHP) at North-West University and a research supervisor for psychology honours students at the University of the Free State, Bloemfontein. She is also currently employed at Houghton House Rehabilitation Centre in Randburg, Johannesburg. She therefore works predominantly with substance- and alcohol related disorders and individuals struggling with chemical dependence. She further has a special interest in working with individuals who experience depression, anxiety, and everyday life stressors. She has a strong inclination for working from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) perspective and focuses on enhancing wellbeing within individuals of any age.
