Professor Ushotanefe Useh is a multidisciplinary professional in Health (physiotherapy), Education, Law, Humanities, and Management. With a multidisciplinary education and training, and an interdisciplinary approach to addressing the NWU strategy, Professor Useh is a fellow of Higher Education Academy of the United Kingdom and has been committed to excellence in teaching and learning, research, and community engagement. He is particularly committed to a broader outlook on university strategy that involves keying into global initiatives for sustainable development like the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs). He is very passionate about a university-community partnership to ensure sustainable lifestyles and community development. His ideas on community partnership and development have evolved into numerous projects, notable of which is the community engagement project aimed at managing NCDs in the rural communities. He also pioneered the “Adopt a school project” in Stadt Primary School, Mahikeng for longitudinal research and intervention for lifestyle diseases among emerging adolescents and young adults.
