B.Pharm, M.Pharm, PhD (Pharmacy Practice)
I am a registered pharmacist and senior lecturer at the North-West University (NWU). After obtaining my B.Pharm degree in 2004, I enrolled for the degree Master of Pharmacy in Pharmacy Practice at the NWU. My M.Pharm examined the prescribing patterns and cost of anti-diabetic medication in the private healthcare sector of South Africa, with special reference to the influence of the single exit price on the cost of anti-diabetic medication. In 2006 I registered for a PhD in Pharmacy Practice, entitled ‘Hypertension treatment in a section of the prescribed management benefit market in South Africa’.
Since January 2010 I have been appointed as full-time senior lecturer within the subject Pharmacy Practice. I am a member of ISPOR South Africa and the research group Medicine Usage Research in Africa (MURIA).
