Background

Postgraduate research supervision & External examiner: I have joined NWU in January 2017, coming from another university I have supervised postgraduate students and also conducted article writing workshops for Masters and PHDs, with former Research Fellow Prof Herman Strydom. I have been the external examiner for a number of universities: NWU Potchefstroom Campus Doctoral Candidate, Mahikeng campus for undergraduate programme. External Examiner for UNISA PHD candidate, Fort Hare University for Masters in Social Work candidates and university of Venda –undergraduate programme while WSU for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Community Engagement: I have worked with local communities on project management, assisting the local communities to manage their projects as well as to register them as Non Profit Organisations through the Department of Social Development. I have been an Executive member for South African Higher Education Community Engagement Forum (SAHECEF) from 2013-2016, I am the co-founder of PIN Project a project for people in need which caters for AIDS orphans and involve grandparents on community development projects such as making beadwork around Richards Bay in KwaZulu-Natal and sell them in countries like UK, Spain & Italy. I have been the Secretary for the Association of Schools of Social Work Education in South Africa from 2009-2012, serving two terms.
