The Centre for Health Professions Education (CHPE) at North-West University offers a range of postgraduate qualifications designed to empower health professionals in higher education with expertise in teaching, learning, and research.

Our postgraduate research degrees focus on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) in health sciences, enabling educators to enhance their teaching practices and contribute to the growing body of health professions education research.

Research and Ethical Clearance

Postgraduate research within the CHPE aligns with ethical research principles. Students conducting research must obtain approval from the NWU Health Research Ethics Committee (HREC). Learn more about the application process here:

This programme provides a structured and applied learning experience to develop curriculum design, assessment strategies, and educational research expertise.

Short Course: Feedback Literacy in Health Professions Education

Effective feedback is essential for student learning and professional development in health professions education. Our short course on Feedback Literacy in Health Professions Education supports university lecturers in developing their feedback literacy, providing effective feedback, and fostering a feedback-rich learning environment.
