International Opportunities

PhASRec is the research focus area for Physical Activity, Sport and Recreation in the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Nort-West University. We have a significant international network reaching countries such as the United States, Australia, The Netherlands, Croatia, Poland, Czechia, Germany, the United Kingdom and African countries such as Kenya, Mozambique, Nigeria and Ghana.

 

1. The following outgoing mobilities are currently open for students:

Erasmus student mobility to the Faculty of Kinesiology, University of Zagreb, Zagreb, Croatia

Two postgraduate STUDENT MOBILITIES are available. Each mobility will be 4 months. During the mobility each student will receive a monthly scholarship of EUR 800. In Zagreb this covers absolutely all the costs. We also guarantee student dormitory accommodation. For student life Euro 500 will be enough.

A travel grant toward a flight ticket will be provided to the value of Euro1500. The University of Zagreb can purchase the tickets.

Courses in English are available at the Faculty of Kinesiology.

Applying for the mobility:

Visit the Faculty of Kinesiology via the provided link and identify the English courses you are interested in in year four or five and aligned with the semester you intend to apply for.

Submit your application in writing to Mrs Charmaine Stone on the 18th of October 2024 for consideration of the 2nd semester mobility [Last week of February 2024 – beginning of July (summer)] or submit your application on the 12th of April 2024 for consideration of the 1st semester mobility [October 2024 – January 2025 (winter)].

 

The application should include the following information:

  1. Cover letter indicating the reason for applying, the semester selected for the mobility and the courses you are interested in attending

  2. Copy of a valid passport

  3. Complete academic record

  4. Proof of registration as a postgraduate student in PhASRec or letter of acceptance for a post graduate programme at PhASRec.
