Background

Christiaan Beyers Brink (Tiaan) (BPharm, MSc, PhD Pharmacology) is a full professor of pharmacology and BPharm Programme Leader at North-West University, South Africa, and a registered pharmacist. He is an NRF C2-rated researcher focusing on novel antidepressants, with awards including the FARMOVS Prize. Since 1990, he has advanced pharmacology education, developing NWU’s first online honours and CPD programmes and receiving the Burrows Teaching Award (McMaster, 2012). He has served three ministerial terms on the NHREC, chaired animal research ethics committees, and held leadership roles nationally and internationally, including IUPHAR, SASBCP, and the Pharmacology for Africa initiative.
