Joe is an associate professor of Pharmaceutics, serving on the Research Committee and HREC. She functions on the Topical Advisory Board of the MDPI journal; Pharmaceutics (IF: 5.4; CS: 6.9) and have been invited as an Editor for the South African Pharmaceutical Journal (SAPJ). She collaborates with various international researchers on drug delivery systems and holds an NRF bursary. She has been an author and co-author of 25 peer-reviewed articles in international scientific journals and have made 15 international conference contributions. She has furthermore supervised/co-supervised 39 MSc. and 3 PhD. students. She has been nominated; and has been a recipient of several educational and research awards.
