My research has explored trauma, psychosocial wellbeing, and violence prevention, with a particular focus on understanding how adversity shapes health and wellbeing across the life course. My current research expands this focus to early intervention child, adolescent, and youth mental health, where I investigate how transdisciplinary and systems-based approaches can be used to understand the organisation, functioning, and interconnectedness of mental health systems. Through this work, I am increasingly interested in systems mapping as a means of examining the complex factors that influence child, adolescent, and youth mental health and identifying opportunities for contextually responsive interventions within African settings.
