As a clinical psychologist, my research focuses on understanding, measuring, and promoting mental health and psychosocial well-being across the lifespan. To date, a lot of my research has been on the measurement of mental health and psychosocial well-being in diverse settings. I am also involved in psychiatric epidemiology studies that aim to understand what factors place people at risk for developing mental health illnesses, what protects their mental health, and what promotes their psychosocial well-being across the lifespan. Moving forward, I have a keen interest in child and adolescent mental health, in particular, how the household and parenting environment impact child and adolescent mental health. I would like to see what interventions that are scalable in low-resource settings can enhance the household and parenting environment towards promoting child and adolescent mental health.
