The cosmetics industry is composed of a number of personal care products used every day by men, women and children throughout the world, including products for skin care, hair care, nail care, makeup, fragrances and shampoo. The industry has experienced significant growth on a global level, but not without major challenges. Quality, safety, efficacy and labeling requirements for cosmetic products are regulated differently in various regions, making it difficult to identify relevant regulations and ensure compliance in all countries where cosmetic products are marketed.
COSSC is a conference organised by the Centre for Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Service (CEL) that will be setting solutions for cosmetic product owners and regulators to align with the international cosmetic regulatory environment through the Cosmetic Product Safety and Compliance Conference. The conference will take place at the NWU Potchefstroom Campus on the 6th and 7th of March 2019.
The South African cosmetic industry comprise of multinational giants, entrepreneurial companies, and small, medium and large local brands. It is the idea to communicate this conference to the brand owners, manufacturers, importers or distributors, regulatory consultants and other industry stakeholders. The objective is to also act as a collaboration platform/environment facilitating interaction between industry stakeholders.
