Background Information

The purpose of this event is to assist and guide South African product owners not only to understand European Union (EU) regulations, but more important also to align with the EU legislation requirements assisting them with exporting products to EU member states. The conference focus would be on the current international/EU legislation As the South African draft regulations were showing harmonising with EU legislation. Hence, it would also be beneficial for South African product owners and regulators to be familiar with the extend thereof.

The NWU would like to give a platform where industry role players can discuss problems and solutions that apply to the South African product owners, manufacturers and regulators. Discussion sessions will also be held for product owners to support them with aligning their business with EU regulation and other international guidelines to ease the sometimes hard road of getting a market-ready cosmetic product ready for export.

The knowledge with regards to the EU Regulations will assist South African cosmetic product owners to export and sell their product in EU member states and hopefully understanding the legislation will also help them to do so with greater ease.

There is a global regulatory movement relating to the alignment of cosmetic product legislation. Hence developing a regulatory system that is workable for each country within a global environment. It is the idea to offer a regulatory information platform for industry partners to discuss, work together, allow and plan to restructure where needed and set the tone to build and increase the South African cosmetic and personal care product export market. It is our vision to assist in connecting, uplifting and bringing industry stakeholders together to expand the South African footprint in the international cosmetic industry.
