The aim of the qualification is to enable a student who has a master’s degree in the field of Occupational Hygiene or an equivalent qualification, to proof by means of a thesis that he/she has made a definitive contribution to the development of new knowledge and/or applicable skills. Another aim of the qualification is to provide South Africa with scientific researchers that have a broad theoretical expertise and practical skills in occupational hygiene. The curriculum is presented on a full-time and part-time basis. The minimum duration of the study is two years and the maximum duration three years.
