The Africa Unit for Transdisciplinary Health Research (AUTHeR) conducts community-based research to understand and address the health challenges experienced by community members. Through engaged research, the work from AUTHeR seeks to positively impact health and well-being.
The One Health platform is a research platform conceptualised by AUTHeR in partnership with the North West Department of Health. The platform draws on the concept of community-oriented primary care and aims to register households in communities in the North West province of South Africa to gain an understanding of the health and well-being of individuals, households, and communities, amongst other things. This data will be collected by community health workers in collaboration with the North West Department of Health.
