Dr. Luce Pretorius is a Senior Lecturer and Subject Group Deputy Leader in Social Work at the School of Psychosocial Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, North-West University, Vanderbijlpark Campus. She holds a PhD in Social Work and specializes in client violence, workplace wellbeing, and the safety of social service professionals.
Dr. Pretorius is actively involved in curriculum development, practicum coordination, and postgraduate supervision. She leads the Wellness Wardens project; a multi-phase initiative focused on strengthening social workers’ safety and wellbeing. She is also a LinkedIn ambassador for NWU and contributes to research, professional development, and policy discussions in the field.
