- PURE is a multinational study focusing on prospective urban and rural epidemiology. The study is a prospective cohort study that will track changing lifestyles, risk factors and chronic diseases using periodic standardised data collection in urban and rural areas of fourteen countries in transition, including South Africa. Dr MJ Watson is the coordinator for the nursing component of the PURE study in which SONS is involved. The study takes place in the Ikageng, Ganyesa and Tlakgameng communities. Read more
