Background

Prof Christi Niesing's research is dedicated to advancing sustainable community development through the design and implementation of targeted development interventions. Her work emphasises the creation of robust tools for measuring and evaluating the long-term impact of these initiatives. As a committed transdisciplinary scholar, she integrates insights from health sciences, social development, and behavioural change, particularly through her leadership role in AUTHeR (Africa Unit for Transdisciplinary Health Research).

She manages the LIFEPLAN® programme, which promotes holistic life skills development, and co-developed the Social Greenhouse® process, an innovative model for enabling community-based projects that transcend disciplinary boundaries to address complex societal challenges.
